Warm medicated oil held in the ear canal, a small treatment with a long classical history.
What it is
Lukewarm medicated oil is instilled into one ear at a time and retained for several minutes while you lie on your side.
What it helps
Tinnitus, ear pain, dryness and itching, jaw tension, and Vata disorders affecting the head. It is one of the daily practices (dinacharya) recommended in classical texts.
What to expect
Painless and brief. Not given during active ear infection or if the eardrum is perforated, the ear is examined first.
